Minority owned businesses have been targeted by States and business alike and according to the latest data from the US Census Bureau there are many more to choose from. The current data shows that Asian and Asian Indian businesses are the fastest growing minority owned businesses. Figures show that Asian Americans owned 1.5 million businesses in 2007, a rise of 40 per cent from five years earlier, have revenue over half a trillion dollars, and employ 2.8 million workers. Businesses owned by Vietnamese Americans were among the fastest growing, increasing nearly 56 percent over the five year period.

The numbers for Asian Indians is equally as impressive with an estimated 308,514 Asian Indian-owned businesses in the United States with $152 billion in revenue, and employing 850,191 people. Asian Indian businesses can be found in every industry in the US, but the largest sectors were traveler accommodations, computer systems design and related services and limited service restaurants. The top states for Asian Indian-owned businesses were California, New York, Texas, New Jersey, Illinois, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland.
